Winter Wonderland

A little break away in Litton in the Yorkshire Dales.
There was a lovely frost in the morning and we couldn't
resist going out and taking some photos. It was extremely
cold, but as we came through the valley the sun came out.
The frozen water at the water fall was absolutely amazing
I've never seen anything like it before, the patterns were
beautiful.

Tasha & Zac

Cousins Tasha & Zac were great to photograph,
we spent a few hours around a wood yard and
got some great results. We love working with out
the constraints of a studio, and you can find a great
background almost anywhere, with just a little bit
of thought and careful posing.
These are some of our favourites...

Abstract Art

When we haven't got a shoot we still like to go out and about
with our cameras to create Photo Art. Here's a few of our
favourite images from a recent day out. It's amazing that
everyday objects can look like artwork, all it takes is a little
bit of imagination and a few different angles or close crops.

2008 Christmas card

We had the idea that we would make our
own Christmas card, after literally seconds
of thought we decided it would be fun to see
what we could do using "light Graffiti".
After making the house as dark as we could
we got a torch and some coloured filters and
had "quite a few" attempts at drawing a
Christmas tree...

All we needed now was a better background,
which was found at a local shopping centre.

Once we found a view point we liked the
rest was easy... ish!

It took a few attempts to get it right, and we managed to
get the above image and get back to the car just as security
arrived to check out the two dodgy people dressed in black
sneaking around the reindeers!

Ross & Gillians Wedding

We've been so busy for the last few months that updating
our blog sort of got put at the bottom of a long list of things
to do!! ooops! sorry.....Ross & Gillian did get their photos
on time though!

An early start, and we found Ross all ready to go and looking
very chilled out, the other side of town and the girls were
taking things a bit slower with champagne along the way.

After a lovely ceremony we went outside in the cold, but at
least there was no rain, a storm had disappeared leaving us
perfect light for the main shots. It was great to get Ross &
Gillian alone to capture the romance of the day, sorry if your
toes got cold Gillian!

You two looked great, we both really enjoyed the day
and can't decide which was our favourite part...
the fish & chips, the pub quiz, the sweet buffet
or the bacon and chip butties, Nice touch!

Ross & Gillian

Pre Wedding Shoot

I knew Ross back in my RAF days when we were both on
a skiing exped together in Austria. Imagine my suprise when
8 years later Mark ends up meeting Ross on a train and we
realise we have all settled in sunny Seaham!

Luckily Ross & Gillian love the outdoors and have all the
gear for keeping warm...which was fantastic as it was a
bitterly cold day when we did their pre wedding shoot!
They are a great couple, we had a fab time on the beach
and managed to get some really cool shots.

Mini Adventure to Alnmouth

Taking a break from portraits, we decided a
mini adventure was called for.....so off we went,
no where in mind, just let the camera guide us!
After a long drive and lots of rain we ended up
at the seaside, and despite the bad weather we
managed to get a few shots we were really happy
with, plus some fish & chips to round the day off!
